Hello all!
I recently found these two "4AGE to W58" bellhousings for sale.
http://a1turbos.co.nz/mm5/merchant.mvc? ... y_Code=1QT
http://www.ogiptech.com/product.html
My question is, if I were able to get my hands on one of these and a w58 tranny, what else would I need?
I would need a custom drive shaft right? And what about clutch, flywheel, etc.?
Any info helps!Thanks in advance!
(P.S. Any experience with either? Love it? Hate it?)

4AGE to W58 Bellhousing
Re: 4AGE to W58 Bellhousing
Generally, you need the front half of an automatic W58 supra equipped driveshaft with the rear half for the AE86. Or it could be the other way around. You'll also need to get a custom clutch made with the spline count for the W58 but the diameter of whatever flywheel you're using. You can use the stock flywheel and get a clutch to match that size, or up to I think a 224mm (or whatever GZE used) with some grinding in the bellhousing.

chohdog, thanks! Knowledge is power!
Re: 4AGE to W58 Bellhousing
I have the w-series conversion with a bellhousing I am using:
w-series manual front driveshaft off an mk2 supra it is the same length as an ae86. You will need to swap the carrier bearing off the ae86 driveshaft. I just bolted the front section to the ae86 rear section.
I am using a 4agze flywheel and clutch assembly. The 4agze clutch matches the splines of the w-series transmission. I did need to modify the bellhousing so it would clear. The 4agze flywheel has the same ring gear as the ae86 but the clutch is larger so it hits the inside of the bellhousing. The ae86 starter will work with the 4agze flywheel.
I also modified the ae86 throwout bearing retainer to bore it out so that fit over the w-series retainer shaft. The reason i did this was because the w-series retainer is shorter than the ae86. Because the ae86 clutch is smaller than a clutch that was used with w-series tranny the w-series retainer has to travel to almost the end of its shaft to engage the ae86 clutch.
For the cross member I took a w-series and cut the ends off it and welded the ae86 ends onto it with a metal plate.
