Is there a way to trigger the fuel pump but not the cranking etc, I need to read the fuel pressure.
I am thinking, turn the key but not press the clutch, the starter will not turn until the clutch is pressed.
Go to the AFM and press on the AFM door. Because the fuel pump doesn't run unless there is air drawn thru, normally this is done by the starter motor creating a vacuum into the engine.
Doing these 2 things, the fuel pump should start to turn on.
Will it work?
Running the fuel pump manually
Re: Running the fuel pump manually
unhook the coil wire and crank the car. no spark will keep the car from starting while still letting fuel pressure build.
or
you can pull the cor relay behind the glove box. the relay has 5 wires 2 on one side and 3 on the other. if you jump the side with 2 wires the fuel pump will come on
or
you can disconect the signal wire from the starter to keep it from turning while turning the key to crank position

There's a way to turn the fuel pump on manually by jumping two wires. It's near the AFM and it's green in color. jump those, switch the key to ON. you can hear the fuel pump running in the back if you listen carefully.
