FUEL SENDING UNIT...Help!!!

my fuel gauge has been reading inaccurate ...Personally i find it very annoying everything else works fine except that!!!..I Have been trying to hunt down a sending unit ...# 833020-80039 i come to find out it has been discontinued for some time ...its a 87 corolla SR-5, i believe the GT-S 8/85 - 7/87 also has the same unit....has anyone on here has figure how to fix these? or find a replacement???? that would work?

Mine is the same way, its the only gauge that is not accurate. And yes, its quite annoying.

I have an extra fuel sending unit if you need it, I swapped out to a digital cluster in my GTS and had to replace it with the proper sending unit. Let me know if you need it.

thanks fellas that was my next move... to try & open it...hopefully cleaning the contacts will solve the issue...@ pogi im going do this on the weekend if the weather is good ...if it doesnt work out ...ill hit you on that sending unit
