I need help with my 86 thank you

Hey hows it going guys i have a sr5 86 and i was wondering if you guys can help me
lately my car has been trying to die when i brake or even on neutral i pump the brakes it tries to die
i just recently replace the brake booster and rebuilt the carb less than 30,000 miles ago
theres no vacuum leaks on it
so if you guys can help me it would mean alot

So ur saying that only when u hit the brakes it wants to die correct? Srry I was in the middle of writing a response then I had to re-read it and go ooooo wait what... lol, either way check other fourms and google ill see what I can find out myself very interesting hmmm gl man!

did you replace the booster with a new one? also do you have the check valve in the booster line and is it good? om willing to bet its a booster problem do you have clamps on the hoses?

@tibby yes only when i hit the brakes the car try to die my car idles at 1k and it goes all the way to 500 when i brake it has only died twice on me when i brake and thanks
@ga_goosh i did replace the brake booster i bought a new one less than a week ago and the check valve is fine and i do have clamps on it

1K is high for the idle. Mine's full manual and the idle should be @ 650...750 with power steering. Maybe you got a faulty booster? That's one possible solution. I'd wait and see if anyone else can help you with another possible solution before being certain that's the issue!
