Hey dude is the bolt not threading in the hole, i.e. it doesn't fit or bad threads?
OR
Is the bung on the manifold cocked so the bolt/egr tube doesn't line up straight with the bung?
The latter is a common problem with the obx manifold. You have to bend the egr tube a bit to get it lining up straight with the bung on the manifold so you can bolt it up.

That is a banjo fitting, so you need to have a washer on both sides of the egr fitting. It will also leak if you don't do it that way.

Further, there are special washers needed for the egr which help create the best seal. Probably $2 from Toyota for both.
However, it looks like you have washers in the first pic, and they appear to be much thicker than the oem washers. My guess is you need to chase the threads on the manifold and bolt.

finally figured it out, the threads in the header were pretty bad so after using a tap and die set it went right in!

Just curious, what make of header is that? I need one, but only found the OBX steel and stainless steel versions. Had no idea about their quality. Does the kit come with a plug/bolt for folks that don't use emissions?

Titanium and nitride coated tap and die set from harbor freight (Currently on special for 85 bucks). Hands down one of the
best tool investments I have -ever- made. If you want to be a grease monkey and wrench on your own car, I strongly, strongly,
STRONGLY suggest it or something equivalent.
