pickup coil and distributor question

After sitting for a long while, had some issues starting up the car a few months back, gave up quickly and took another look recently. After some searching on here, i pulled the pickup sensors out and found one had lost the plastic cover of sorts, and some of the copper windings were frayed.

Checked out the local autoparts store (Kragen/Checker or whatever it is now) and they have the sensor, but wasn't sure if both were the same. I'd have to splice it in, not too worried there, but figured i'd ask first since they only had one option.

Also, looked at just replacing the dizzy, and noticed MAP units available for the JDM cars (mine is imported). Hadn't realized there was a difference, thinking of picking up a used one, but wanted to make sure I spent my money on the right part. Any answers to the new sensor or used distributor would be great.
