Swap whats the best route

ok so im new here and looked on the first 3 pages and couldn't find the answer to this question. I am buying an ae86 from a girl that has no clue what it is so i am getting it for 500 dollars no rust only 98k miles runs perfect have been around this girl for awhile now and by that i mean around the car. so when i get it i want to swap a motor into it because it has the sohc and not much power at all what would be the easiest swap with little to no fabrication that can give me a little more power? im looking for something that can drift cuz thats what i want to get into done the whole rally thing drag and time attack but never had a FR before. Cuz want to get around everything. i have done a little research here and there but never got a full answer that i was covinced with. i was thinking about getting a 4ag-e. is it an easy swap. keep in mind the last 4 years i have been working on hondas and before that when i was doing rally i was in an evo for 2 years and then my sister totled it. so i am really in need of help from someone that knows toyota's. cuz when it comes to me im retarted about it

The thing is, this question has been answered about 1000+ times on almost every forum you can imagine.
You can even find full writeups with pictures on different swaps at this point.
Anyway, It depends one what kind of power you are looking for. its not impossible to drift in an sr5 but like you said, its slow and difficult, but the 4age isnt exactly crazy fast either. If you want to keep its originality with just a little extra power enough to try drifting while it still being a daily driver, then swap the 4age or a ka24 or something and call it a day, but keep in mind its no walk in the park neither will it be easy on the wallet. Depending on where you live though it could be easier or harder. But yes, fuel system will need to be swapped, full wiring harness, motor, and preferably rear end as well.

ok that helps i am not sure. yet havent seen the ka24 before like i said i have no clue about toyota's but i will look into it i see things like f22's and sr20det's but i want to try and keep it toyota not honda or nissan or i would buy a 240 or a s2k and rear end will switch i didnt know about what your saying is i need a rear end with a lsd or just a whole swap. i know that no one in this area has any clue whats going on i live in south iowa and like i said the girl i am going to buy the car off of said and i quote" why would you want a 28 year old toyota is it cuz its a clasic"

Im in the same place, parts and the cars in general are hard to come across where I live, especially 4age stuffs. If you want to stay toyota your best bet is a 4age or 3sge for simplicity and ease. The Ka24 is the oem 240sx motor, but its one of the easier swaps, that is why I recommended it. Swapping a 3sge requires quite a bit of fabrication from what I know. IF you plan to swap a 4age know that there are like 4 different kinds of 4ages.

This site as tons of info on 4ages and its a great starting place. But like I said before, almost every motor under the sun has been swapped into this car and you can find all of the info on almost any swap you have planned. Just search I guarantee you its been asked.

As for the rear end, Its not a necessity, you can probably stick with a sr5 and weld it, but its a lot weaker and there is no lsd for it aside from welding or spooling. A stronger rear might be a good idea to consider.
Finally, If you plan on swapping a 4age, your best bet is to find an old beat up or totaled gts as a donor car, or buy a gts and sell your sr5 back it will save you a lot of time and money if you can.

You could always go 4age. If i were you I would drive the tits out of the Sr5 and once you have rebuilt the 4age, drop it in and keep on pushing it... that way you will have the HP bump you want, then slowly start doing other things with it ie. suspension and the like... It all depends on what exactly you want the end state to be... If its clean then you are starting off with an awesome slate.

between work and taking care of my kid that took a long ass time to read finally got done with it and WOW that is a lot of stuff to do working 5 days a wwek it will prob take about a year to swap it is what i kind of figured from that correct me if im wrong though
