Rear end replacement

Postby RLZ » Sat Oct 26, 2013 5:45 pm

Hi guys, I just got a LSD rear end for my 86 corolla, is there any local installers around SoCal 626 area? Please let me know if you can help me out, thanks!

^This is not too difficult. You can probably find a write up somewhere....or the manual.

unless he's talking about installing an lsd into his current diff, (which still isn't SUPER involved)

to change rear end, jack up rear end and support car with jack stands (not on the axle of course)

disconnect driveshaft, center brake line, brake cables, sway bar brackets,

support diff with jack.

unbolt shocks from rear end, slide off, lower diff down a little, unbolt 4 links, done.

then just replace your old diff with the new one and repeat the steps in reverse order, bleed your brakes after.

I know it's not that difficult but I need someone to adjust the backlash also that's why. :)

I know K1 and Mitsu will do that, K1 charge me $450 to change bearings etc and adjust the backlash, never asked Mitsu tho, how much do you guys think it will cost?
