Window wash button not working

Postby Grant » Mon Dec 30, 2013 8:33 pm

Has anyone else had a problem with this? I tested the pump and it works.

I'm going to take out the switch and test that next.
Is there a relay I should check?

I haven't spent much time with this problem, but it's next on my to-do list. Any past experiences/solutions would be helpful! :)

Before taking the dash apart to check the switch, I would use a multimeter to check for voltage at the pump when you push the button. That way you could rule out electrical problems altogether. If there's no voltage, then start digging...

I've had the hoses and even squirters themselves get crusty and clogged up on a few cars. If there are no problems with the circuit, I'd check there. Chances are that in a car this old, the hoses aren't in good shape anyway. If the squirters themselves are crusty, you can just use a small wire or pin to unclog them.

I've had good success with compressed air sprayed into the nozzles, not through them if that makes any sense.
