My 4A-GE 16v RWD alternator stopped charging . Will an alternator from an (AW11) Mr2 4A-GE or later generation Corolla (AE92) 4A-GE bolt up with no issues..?? Also would it connect into my existing alternator plug in..?? Tried the SEARCH button but no luck again. Thanks

Most r interchangeable. Some mr2's work n others the brackets are flipped tge opposite way. Most of the plugs from that time period are all the same aswell. I am using or trying to use a mk3 supra alt wich is a 70a the same as the mr2. It is spot on w the 86 alternator except the plug n post r slighty clocked in a diff position. They are also priced the same at most local part stores to the 86 units

Im currently using one off a AE92. It works fine and all the connections are correct. Just be aware that it is possible that aftermarket AE86 4age alternator pullies will not fit with a new model alternator.

7mge engine non turbo

7mge alt.= 70Amps
7mgte alt.= 80Amps

Swap over ae86 pulley.

Depending on what brand of alternator you have the stator shaft diameter may change. So you may not be able to just bolt on your pulley. I have had this happen to me. So try to stay with toyota and rebuild what you have.

I had an alternator from an aw11 on my last 86 worked great. I would like to swap my new alternator with a 7mgt in the near future due to extra stuff I will be adding to the car.
