Don't want to be the one to burst your bubble, but....

... I can't see these getting approved in any jurisdiction that has safety laws.
The DOT Approved lens has freznel features moulded in to it to provide a clean
cutoff and direct light down and to the passenger side of the road to avoid
glare affecting oncoming traffic. Caveat emptor !!!

I didn't know Levin parts from Japan could be DOT approved.

These are great for people who track their cars. I have a few wrecked pairs in my garage that I may be able to revive thanks to this.

Yes... good point and my bad. US market only received Trueno with pop up lights
and they would have had to comply with Federal Standards. The pop up lights have
the same fresnel lens features as the Levin for the same reason.

JDM Levin lights dip to the left and USDM car lights dip to the right. In theory any
RHD car imported into the US should have the lights changed to LHD type, but I don't
know how US safety regulations work. Maybe not enough RHD cars get imported for
it to be considered an issue ?

So I'm confused about how these are better. I have pop up lights, but I assume the factory Levin lights are glass..

They are also a fluted lens.. fluted glass lens are always superior. Heck, glass alone is superior to acrylic, that's why the Mazda boys pay big bucks to get the NZ optioned glass headlights on the BG8Z..

I dunno, just wondering what the positive is here?

If that's the case, I assume this is for track cars because people will be flashing their lights at you all day on public roads lol.

I'd be interested in weight comparison as well...

And hell, might as well show cut-off/lumen comparison...

Haha indeed. Even stock rhd lenses are a problem on a lhd car. I got pulled over once - cop said my headlights had a weird glare/flicker affect. Granted i was driving on a rough patch of road (was in process of being repaved), and my car was on short stroke suspension that was really stiff at the time..
