I've been searching on this all moring & have not seen anything in depth about converting the AE86 rear to Celica Supra rear without welding. Everything I've seen has shown the conversion performed with welding involved.
I just blew out my diff & am not able to find another one at the moment.
I know there is a conversion for the AE86 using the Celica/Supra rear.
I'm just trying to confirm that in order to convert over without welding the AE86 brackets to the Celica/Supra rear I can just use Techno Toy Tunings 4 link & lateral rod. I'm using Powered By Max real coilovers so the spring perch is not an issue. Lemme know guys, thanks.

Re: **Celica Supra Non Welded Conversion**
It sounds like you done your research already.
t3 sells links to mate the supra rear end to the ae86 chassis. Other than supra rear being bigger it is different than the ae86 in that:
The bolts that connect the control arms the rear are larger than the ae86. I believe the upper mounts are further apart than the ae86. the lower are have the same spacing. The panhard mount is relatively further away than the ae86. and the spring perches are larger as you mentioned.

Re: **Celica Supra Non Welded Conversion**
so in this swap parts need is just the celica supra rear end and T3 rear link? no welding require?
Re: **Celica Supra Non Welded Conversion**
yup. but keep in mind you need the celica/supra conversion lateral bar as well.
direct from T3 website:
"This 4 link set has all the proper lengths, and stainless bushing sizes to make that rear end a direct swap. You will also need our Celica/Supra swap Lateral Bar to complete the swap, so check that out too!"

Re: **Celica Supra Non Welded Conversion**
the rear spring perches being different diameters could be solved with going to a true coilover setup on the rear shocks. eliminate the need of the spring perches all together.
Re: **Celica Supra Non Welded Conversion**
thats exactly what he said he was doing in post #1. but yeah. true statement.
*BTW i have PBM coilovers they are incredible.

hmmmm
but if im not going over 200hp i dont need to swap to a bigger rear end do i>?
this swap only for those with lot of hp right?
and i dont know if im ok with the rear coilover setup either i once saw a post of a guy whom have that setup broken on the top where he/she mount it. for that reason i like to stick with spring perch and shock

Re: **Celica Supra Non Welded Conversion**
yeah celica supra rear is only if you are really beating on it, or lots of power (or both!).
mine has an oem rear with weir performance upgraded ring and pinion, axles, and spool. it will take abuse from V8 swaps (500 hp). i think im okay with my 20v BT haha
and powered by max coilovers come with a new top mount for the rear so it wont break. its a great setup!

I answered another member's questions here: http://club4ag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4210
The big needs are: Welding perches if not going with coilovers, Adjustable Panhard Bar, and custom shortened driveshaft.
