Superstrut Coilover Conversion, Complete

Postby Crownvicman289 » Sun Feb 09, 2014 10:16 am

EDIT: Just did some research, looks like this bolts into 96-98 AE10X Corollas. That's when the rear vertical mounting bolt was implemented here in the states. It also works with 98-02 Corollas, but only if you swap an A engine into it. It bolts into the chassis just fine, but the sway bar is incompatible because of the rear exhaust of the ZZ engines.

I've got everything you'll need to turn your MacPhereson strutted car into a Super Strut car so it acts like a double wishbone suspension with its improved geometry. In order for this to be a bolt-in solution, your lower control arms will need to have a vertical bolt in the rear. The pictures will give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. If you have any fabrication skills, this can be retrofitted to an AE92 as well. This is what I'd planned to do before I decided to bail on the car. Included are the coilovers, lower control arms, knuckles, calipers, rotors, pads, tie rods, even a k member if you need it. The super strut rotors are slightly larger and thicker than the non and the calipers are a dual piston design unlike the singles on all the US cars.

I don't know the mileage on the coilovers, but they're in excellent condition.

The fronts have adjustable pillow ball camber plates.

Close up of the part number. These are 24 way single adjustable.

As you can see, the knuckles accept ABS sensors.

In the last pic, you can see what I'm talking about with the vertical bolt. Double check on your car, but the E110 chassis is configured like this (that's what it came out of) meaning these will bolt into the stock k member of a 98-02 Corolla and possible into the 03-08 version but don't quote me on the latter. Super Strut was also available in the AE101 (E100), but I'm not sure if they altered the chassis of those cars or not. I'm also highly suspicious of these working in the 99-06 Celica. Basically, if you have the vertical bolt in the rear, this bolts on in its entirety so you get a better handling car with improved geometry stronger, more heat resistant brakes. Below are a few pics of the Super Strut k member vs. an AE92 k member, the cleaner being the Super Strut member.

If you look closely, you can see that 2 of the bolts line right up to get this located properly on an AE92.

I'm asking $700 for the whole lot. That's 4 knuckles, 4 LCAs, 4 front calipers, 4 front rotors, 2 sets of pads, the tie rods, and the coilovers for less than a new set of POS Chinese coilovers. I realize shipping will suck, so I've priced accordingly. You can email me at d_mozader at hotmail dot com with any questions.

Just did some research, looks like this bolts into 96+ AE10X Corollas. That's when the rear vertical mounting bolt was implemented here in the states. It also works with 98-02 Corollas, but only if you swap an A engine into it. It bolts into the chassis just fine, but the sway bar is incompatible because of the rear exhaust of the ZZ engines. Kind of begs the question though, can't you just run the 98-02 cross member/sway bar and bolt all this to it? I don't think anyone's tried that yet.

Hello.

Do you splitt up the set ? is it possible to buy just the coilovers?

You can send me a message if you want to sell the coilovers and possibly the price for them :)

(sorry for bad english)
