AE86 Blacktop A/C and Heat Question

Postby urzu725 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 12:34 pm

Hey everybody, I'm new to having an 86 and have a question. I bought my car with a blacktop swap but it doesn't have the capacity to have heat and a/c in it's current state. It's missing the heater core and the compressor and all of that stuff. If I bought a carbed SR5 with a/c and heat, could I swap it over? Are the parts interchangeable? If not, what kind of project am I looking at here in order to get a/c and more importantly heat? Thanks guys.

All the ducts, heater core, and evaporator inside the car are interchangeable. The A/C parts in the engine bay are not, and the wiring for the A/C is also different. If you don't need A/C, then just put in the heater core and attach the heater hoses.
