HKS Hi-Power exhaust install question

Postby Grant » Sat May 25, 2019 3:02 pm

Hello,

It's been a while since I've done any major work on my AE86 besides maintenance (and driving 8-) ). I finally decided to replace the old crusty exhaust with an HKS Hi-Power catback, but I noticed something strange when checking the fit.

It looks like I am missing an exhaust hanger? Is there a Toyota part I can look for that bolts to the body there?

If anyone with an HKS exhaust wants to provide a picture of what their exhaust is attached to I would really appreciate it!

Thanks. :)

I think I might have answered my own question. From looking at the parts diagrams, it looks like I am missing one of the exhaust hanger brackets.

https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_1986_ ... -1702.html

Here is the exact part: https://parts.toyota.com/p/BRACKET/6319 ... 13020.html

Anyway, I'm glad Toyota still provides all these diagrams otherwise I would be completely lost.

and you can still buy them new from Toyota!
Be sure to clean the thread with a tap before installing the bolts though.

Yep, I'll definitely make sure the threads are clean.

Also, FYI I bought the last exhaust hanger bracket in the whole US... sorry guys. :(
