Well, it looks like the Toyota GR Supra (A90) has won the most important award in Europe for automobiles.

The Das Goldene Lenkrad (or the "Golden Steering Wheel Award" is given to the best in each category of cars based on the most scrutiny of judges and testing scores by an independent firm in Germany. The panel of judges for 2019 includes untainted and varying genre of people from racing car drivers, to scientists, engineers, and celebrity car fanatics, independent from media and marketing, and on strict selection based on each years accreditation standards. The roster of cars in the race is selected from a "people's choice" that is preselected from the population of car lovers in the nation, tallied by Springer corporation.

The testing is conducted by DEKRA a 3rd party contractor for precision and dozens of vehicle parameters. And this year, even fuel economy accuracy, and deviance from retail catalog in numerical specs were scored as part of advertising integrity of the makers.
It's one award a maker can't 'buy & bribe' in the world of automobile.

And in the process of all that took place with hundreds of cars, in the sports car category, the Toyota Supra took the sports car category, edging over the Porsche 911(992) and others for the prestigious award. (I was wondering why Mr.Tada cancelled his plans for this week and headed straight to Germany after SEMA! haha)

Also, Mr.Akio Toyoda has been elected into their Hall of Fame as an influential automobile figure of the year, joining the ranks of Henry Ford, Ferry Porsche, Agnelli, Iacocca, Schumacher, Hamilton, and Elon Musk among others.

The awards ceremony is being held as we speak, and Press Releases in Europe will soon follow I suppose.
