Falken RT615K are not produced anymore

Postby chemtrails » Thu Jun 27, 2013 12:01 pm

I have been calling around all day trying to get a set of 615Ks in 14s for a track day in a few weeks and everyone has them as "backordered" or could they completely out of production?

Some of us with 14s these means, we are going to be SOL when it comes to cost effective performance tires in 14s

That does not mean they completley stopped production on them. It simply means they are on a national backorder. This happens over here @ Michelin all the time. It will be estimated around 6-8wks before they have any in production. Atleast thats the norm @ Michelin, not sure about Falken. Only way you are going to get some of those is if a shop has some dusty ones on the shelf.

They seem to be advertising them with pictures, not sure if they actually have them in stock though.
615ks FTW, my favorite tire period! :D

i called everyone in the area i could think of (Socal) and nothing, but i did however call Falken directly to confirm if this was a rumor or not and the saleman from Falken did say that they 615Ks not discontinue for any size includeing 14s and a new shipment should be available in 6-8 weeks, i am just going to have to hope my tires will last for one more track day.

Not really. This happens to every tire manufacture, it's not like some dude at Falken fell asleep or something. I get this all the time @ Michelin. You should have bought extra sets, I'm sure you will buy 2 sets next time ;)

Have you tired Z1s or Z2s? I personally preferred them to 615Ks, but that's just me.

this is because they don't make these in 14s that much.
come on think about it...
most race cars run 16+ inch wheels.
bigger size are more common.
so don't get all crazy cause they are on back order.
