Alright guys, so here is whats going on. This thing still wont start after alot of diag.
I have checked all the sensors per the fsm and they all have pointed to the ecu. So I changed the ecu. Timing is on, I didn't use the crank pully, lined everything up to the marks on the block. I have spark air, fuel, compression (I should probably recheck it becuase of all the fuel that has been on the cylinders) And I'm stumped still. Even after new ecu and battery it wont fire, it doesnt even want to try to catch, just cranks. Has anyone else ever ran into this? Because there are a few events coming up that I need a running car for. And I really don't want to buy a new engine.
Just to help, here is whats done to the motor
trd head gasket,
full port and polish,
Kelford cams 194-b,
So nothing really major
Please give me some ideas and opinions!!

I'm not really familiar with Toyotas yet but from experience, when you're FOR SURE getting fuel and fire, check your compression. Its super scary, like going for a cancer check but if your compression is good its something easy.
Re: 20v Bt wont start
I'm having this exact issue. Started after changing the timing belt. Except mine will want to catch. And shoots flame balls from the intake
I know compression is good and the engine is healthy because it ran before I changed the timing belt.

Did this motor run in this car before or is this a fresh install?
Re: 20v Bt wont start
The thing is though, you could have the timing off, and some valves could have gotten bent. If you truly have consistent fuel and fire it has to be a compression issue.
Re: 20v Bt wont start
i have 180 compression across all cylinders
Re: 20v Bt wont start
Then it has to be a fuel/fire issue. You tried taking a wire off, putting an old plug in it and watching it fire as you crank it? Also check fuel pressure. If you have all of that your distributor could be off. Have you tried taking it out and resetting it?
