Re: JSP Formula Drift AE86 rebuild
Headed to the track this weekend. Made all new windows. Mounted and programmed the racepak. Wired all the light. Buttoned up most of the inside. Made a couple test passes in front of the shop and found both rear lower links to be bent. I believe welding them softened the metal a ton. Im going to remake them in steel this week. Besides that everything else on the car has performed perfectly. Ill post up track video next weekend if it doesnt rain.

Looks great!
How did you end up attaching the rear bumper?
I'm assuming you made some brackets to attach it, but in the previous pics it looks like all of the original mounting points were cut off

Re: JSP Formula Drift AE86 rebuild
figured it would be smarter to remake the upper links while I was at it. These arms are rediculous. They probably weigh at least 8lbs a side.

6.6@112 1.48 60ft
prob around a 10.0-10.2 1/4
I was having trouble keeping the turbo under boost from 1-2. It really needs more boost to function properly.
Re: JSP Formula Drift AE86 rebuild
Dadgum if you bend those new rear arms, you did something wrong! Looks great John. What would you do to solve the boost issue, just run a bigger turbo?

Re: JSP Formula Drift AE86 rebuild
No, turbo is too big for the power im making now. It will be fine once the built engine is put in and running more boost. Only 20psi right now. This turbo is barely spinning so looses speed easily. This turbo is designed to run 40-60psi.
Re: JSP Formula Drift AE86 rebuild
Crap it's already making 600whp, what will it hit with the built engine? 8-900?

1,100? What would the horsepower per ton be?
There shouldn't be a day that goes by where you don't learn something new.

1100hp = 1 ton of hp = hauling ass
pretty sure I did the math right on that.

Fixing and changing stuff. Rearend was leaking, pulled it apart and resealed it. Doing the same for the tranny. Sold all the front suspension stuff, ordered all new custom stuff. Brake booster delete. Rerouted the line lock, waiting for the built engine still, hopefully soon. Routed the dp out the hood, the fumes inside were killing me at the track.
